It’s really a nice solution. Great product.
The plate itself is fairly sturdy. I agree that my laptop (Lenovo X1 carbon) is not heavy, but I think a laptop twice as heavy as mine will be handled easily as well.
The tray is the only one available on Amazon. I mounted it using an Amazon Basics vesa mount monitor arm. It’s sturdy base is good. It can easily take a 17 inch laptop, mine is, but the clips at the side to hold the edges are a bit flimsy. No wobble. Assembly of the tray took less than 2 minutes.
Very sturdy, good quality steel plate.
